The Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) will convene a review of the 2016 Pacific sardine stock assessment update, for use in setting harvest management and specifications for the July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017 fishing year.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday March 10, 2016, in Sacramento, California.
The primary purpose of the meeting is to review an updated stock assessment of the Pacific sardine resource. The next full assessment is scheduled for 2017.
PFMC will set harvest specifications and management measures at its April 9-14, 2016 meeting in Vancouver, Washington.
