Cooking Demonstrations hourly from 1-5 (PIER 3)
Shucking and Filleting Contests and Demos (STEAMSHIP PIER)
COWBOYS & FISHERMEN – BIG WORDS FROM THE BIG STATES
Hear about life on the ranch and at sea through the poetry of Texas rancher Joel Nelson, a 2009 National Heritage Award Recipient and Alaska fisherman Dave Densmore, one of the founders of the Astoria Fisherpoets Gathering.
NATIVE AMERICAN FISHING AND FARMING TRADITIONS
With participants from the Inupiat, Choctaw and Aquinnah Wampanoag tribes
KIDS ACTIVITIES
Interactive performances, hands on craft and marine science activities, children’s authors, temporary tattoos and a cartooning workshop!
VESSEL TOURS – (PIER 3 & STATE PIER)
Get on board a tug boat, scalloper, dragger, coast guard life boat, coast guard patrol boat and more!

FESTIVAL HOURS: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th 11:00 – 7:00 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27th 11:00 – 5:00
JOIN THE CREW – VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
If you are interested in volunteering at this year’s event, please contact our volunteer coordinator Laura Campbell at volunteer@workingwaterfrontfestival.org or call the festival office at 508-993-8894. Volunteers are needed to help with set up, break down, staffing info booths, selling t-shirts, assisting performers, logging recordings, trash and recycling and much more! Volunteer opportunities are available from Friday September 25th through Monday September 28th. Volunteers are asked to work a four hour shift in exchange for a festival t-shirt and beverage.
