Hay Nick, I don't have a phone right now but read about you in the forum. I was wondering if I could be put in your hat, of competant crew men if something comes up? I work great on the deck and don't like to bother any skipper. Things really seem to be tough out there, but, as usual, there seems to be a plethora of tied up boats. I don't understand it and it is super frustrating. Is there any Tuna Boats you might know about in your neck of the woods? Anyway, i'm about to head over to the west coast (monday) and will be heading north along the coast. I hate this part of the job so wish me luck and if I should find something that would suit ya, or anything really, man I'll shout out to ya as soon as I can. The best of luck and don't give up. Sincerely, Jeffrey D. Dube

Hey thanks Jeff !! I will keep my eyes and ears open for any boats here for you as well.I have not heard of any boats available any where and its extremely hard to find one tied up that's not for sale. The ones i have found for sale, they only want cash.don't want anyone to fish it.It is hard to sit starving and watching these boats just sit.(My kids are hungry, crying and looking at door knobs thinking the are biscuits) I really need to go back to work!!
I wish you all the luck in the world with your adventure!! What kind of fishing do you specialize in? we may be able to find a boat in the keys to fish if we are very lucky.Snapper/grouper boats.I should hear something from that source this week. But not very highly there will be anything available. But if so i will let you know.
My self i do not drink/smoke dope/or any drug.I work very hard,I maintain the boat mechanically and every other way ,saves the owner lots of money, take 2-3 day trips by myself day after day until the weather blocks me.And it has to be crappy!Any ways the point is i see other guys don't give a shit and get the boats to fish. Amazing how people think.I'm working on a deal to obtain my own vessel hope it works out.ok enough for now, lol. we can all complain about diffrent things.any ways good luck and talk to you soon!! Nick

Hey nick it was nice speaking with you on the phone. Having spoke with nick I think he has a decent business plan for a kingfish boat out of Sebastian, FL with the ability to travel with he fish is needed. He has mechanical skills with marne diesels & other boat repairs, experience in the fishery & locall fishery knowledge. He needs a capital investor or working partner for about 6k-10k to get up & running. He has a line on a seriously discounted boat that needs a motor, a suitable running takeout to replace it & the ability to do the swap himself. He plans to rig her up for kingfish & may be interested in other fisheries & or chartering. He is willing & creative enough to get this going & needs a simmilar compliment with some cash to make this deal work. This could be a good fit for a fish house/seafood broker who has a market for kingfish. A situation like this could bennefit the boat by paying a better price then the existing buyer in the area & also providing a fresh supply of fish without going through a few middlemen first. Save money & buy direct from a boat you have an interest in, no auctions just fresh fish gutted, iced & shipped ltl(less than load) hours after being landed.
Hell maybe you have some money a little boating experience & always wanted to be a commercial fisherman in the Cape Canaveral area. This could be an option to break into the industry with a sort of OJT in exchange for a loan with a lien to be paid in 1 year. You could work along side nick bennefiting from his years of knowledge & then run another boat down the road; potentially partnering again in the future. I dont know the best avenue to get this going but if it was me I would be trying to do these sorts of things to get up & running. I am sure the usual small biz credit lines have been exhausted, & unsure whrsat equity & or real property is owned if any by Nick but thats not all that uncommon in fishing. This is how fishing ventures get started just a guy with an idea & experience & the promise to invest lots of work & sweat equity. B
