I am a commercial fisherman with 8 years experience in mulitple fisheries up & down the atlantic coat. I live in New Bedford, MA (Americas #1 fishing port). I am always building on my network of deckhands, mates ,captains, boat owners, fish houses, suppliers etc.

I am always looking to expand on this network. I am willing to assit as a free consultant in areas that I have knowledge & or that may mutually bennefit us in the future $$. Paid dockside positions, seafood operations & Fishing jobs are wanted as well.

1. passing on job leads to experienced fisherman.
2. passing on contact info of experienced fishermen to known boats looking for crew.
3. consulting on knowledge of local ports, suppliers & facilities available,
4. fishery specific questions, gear, boats etc.
5. working to help start new fishing parterships & busnesses, gear & boat work
6. aquisition & sales of discounted boats, permits & equipment for new fishing parterships & businesses.

Hello, I am replying to your data base for hireable deckhands and mates.  I am a 50 year old male, from St. Cloud, Fl.  I don't do drugs and am not a drunk; have been in the trade since 2000.  I started on the Miss Anne, out of Hollywood, Fla., captained by a Tim Mcgrath a New Jersey, longliner for Tuna, sword and shark, worked for a year and was well taught, but didn't make a lot of money.  Went back to Cape Canaveral, Fl and worked on a gill netter for the new year and a half, out of there, got invited to work on the Chances R III, a grouper longliner out of Port Canaveral, working the south Atlantic and gulf.  Stayed on her for almost two years before that came to an end.  I have been a captain 3 times since but none of those jobs worked out.  I produced 12,000, 9,000 and 10,000 pounds on each try but for some reason it just didn't work out with the owner.  I always turned the boat around.  I was taught in my greenhorne year to get three trips in a month and things would work out, unfortunately the owners always wanted to see where I had been and talk instead of letting me do my job and get back out.  Or the boat needed a repair that for some reason was going to take a year to accomplish and that because it wasn't my responsibility I wasn't allowed to fix it myself and get back out.  I usually moved on of my own volition instead of waste my efforts of making a buck for myself as well as the owner.  I don't say much and love doing this job.  I am successful and have a good plan to fish whenever I go, check water, ground contour and composition, water depth, current and temp so I am not going out there blind and guessing.  I caught a job up in Freeport, New York this summer, dragging for bait clams in front of the city that was an absolute fiasco, got into a brutal fistfight with the skipper/owner over being paid on time which got tossed into jail for.  I just got home, here in St. Cloud and am looking for another opportunity.  I have my first aid and defibrillator card, Fl. drivers license and social security card.  Not wanted by the law and not on any probation or restriction to work as a result of the aforementioned.  My email address is dube4@live.com and look forward to hearing of anything that's available.  Get around by bus or train or walk.  If it is there, I'll be there.  Sincerely and to everyone best of new years, catch um up, Jeffrey D. Dube.
