Thanks for all the input guys. I think there are more people than jobs just about anywhere these days. Drilling is starting to pick back up in a few areas but our rig count for the U.S. alone is still down by over 700 rigs. What's the money and fishing season on the Pogey boats like? And just to let everyone know...I could care less about being on TV or being famous. I would like to make a name for myself as a good hand in any industry that I work in though. I can't lie...I would love to have the chance to go to Alaska, weather it be for a fishing job or a roughneck job. I've wanted to go since I was young. No better way to go than to work there.

Business / Employment / Any Fishing Jobs???

Hey everyone. Are there really any fishing jobs out there? I want to get into the commercial fishing industry but it seems that all I run into is a bunch of headhunters wanting me to pay for them to find me a job. I just need to find a place for one good chance. I'll make a good hand. I work on a drilling rig so the long hours, extreme outdoor conditions, and hard work are all in a days work for me. I love to travel and work hard. I have also served in the U.S. Army Infantry. My work history consists of all labor intensive environments. I am able to work well with almost any crew. I understand that I will have to start from the bottom and that I am not below any task, no matter how tedious or meaningless it may seem. I know that I can be an asset to any crew because of my willingness to learn and grow in anything that I do. I can also cook extremely well. If there is anyone out there that can just give me a little push...it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
