The All Things Dutch Harbor and Unalaska Gift Shop was created to provide a photographic mural of life and the fishing industry in the International Port of Dutch Harbor and the City of Unalaska on Unalaska Island. Unalaska Island is a part of the Aleutian Islands off of the Alaskan Penninsula and a very remote location.
The bisected community of Dutch Harbor and Unalaska has provided a central hub of operations for the Bering Sea fishing fleet: the deep water net trawlers, the crab boats which have been seen on the Discovery channel, and the longliners which use hook and line to catch fish.
All photographs were taken on location and feature not only the fishing boats, but a view of the community, the wildlife and flora, and anything else which illustrates life in a remote Alaskan fishing community. Some original graphics are also featured on the site, but the essence of the e-store lies in the photographs.
