A British Columbia Supreme Court decision to extend the transfer deadline for finfish aquaculture to federal regulation includes a suspension on approvals of all new marine finfish aquaculture licenses.
Additionally, B.C. will not be accepting new applications for shellfish aquaculture and will be negotiating the transfer of shellfish aquaculture regulation to the federal government as well.
